A VERY SPECIAL WAY OF ST. JAMES

The first part: From Seville to Castile-León

The Route of the Way of St. James along the Silver Route is not the most famous, but what is certain is that it goes through incredible places and that, in addition, it has the charm of being less crowded than the French Way of St. James, to name the most famous.

The route starts in one of the most spectacular cities in Spain, Seville. From there, it crosses Extremadura, passing through beautiful cities such as Mérida and Cáceres, as well as natural places of great scenic value. After travelling through Extremadura, it enters Castile and León, specifically in the province of Salamanca, until it reaches the city.

AN EXPERIENCE IN ZAMORA

The stages that you can discover near our Inn

One stage after Salamanca city, is where we are, in the middle of the Camino de Santiago on the Silver Way. In stage 21, after leaving Cubo del Vino, the pilgrim finds a landscape of gentle hills, dotted with centuries-old vineyards, fields full of poppies and small groves of pines and oaks that lead, after 13 kilometres of authentic rural paradise, to our village, Villanueva de Campeán, where you can recharge your batteries.

Two stages after where we are, specifically at stage 23, the Way of Saint James along the Vía de la Plata forks and you can choose between the French Way, which, from Astorga (stage 27) joins the traditional French Way for the last 12 stages to Santiago, or the Sanabrés Way, much less crowded, but of great beauty, which crosses from Zamora to Galicia through the part of Sanabria

A stop on the way or a single stage

Here are all the stages of theWay os St. James along the Silver Route. Logically, it is complicated to have almost 40 days to do it or to have the physical fitness to walk so many kilometres a day for so many days. Everyone does their own way as they wish, as this is not a competition. This is only an indication of a proposal of stages and, above all, a guide so that you know that, regardless of where you start or finish, the whole section is adapted and signposted so that you can do it on foot.

There is also the possibility that you can come to the inn for several days and do some stages from here: from the Inn to Zamora or from the Inn to Calzada de Valdunciel (both are about thirty kilometres long). If you want a shorter one, you can go to El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino, 14 kilometres away.
