NINE CHARMING PLANS
CHARMING PLANS IN ZAMORA, NEAR THE HOTEL
We are in a perfect area to take as a starting point to enjoy all kinds of charming plans in Zamora. Gastronomy, tradition, active tourism. Plans and activities of all kinds that will be the perfect complement to your stay in our rural hotel and the perfect way to make the days you spend staying with us a rural experience in contact with nature and tradition in Zamora.
A “Forest Bath” enjoying the nature that surrounds us
The “Forest Bath” is a Japanese tradition that consists of enjoying nature in a different way, connecting with the natural environment using all our senses.
In addition to the proven health benefits (reduction of stress, anxiety, insomnia, reduction of depressive moods…) it is a fantastic way to promote ecological awareness of natural spaces.
From La Posada Real del Buen Camino we propose you to discover more about these “Forest Baths” and the possibility of enjoying this type of activities in the Natural Parks that we have near the hotel.
Doing a stage of the Way of Saint James along the Silver Route
Through Villanueva de Campeán runs the Way of Saint James along the Silver Route. You can feel like a pilgrim for a day by walking part of this Way of St. James in the certainty of physically treading the same path that pilgrims walked for centuries and in many sections the same secular stones.
And, to complete the day, what better than to enjoy its wide gastronomic offer, with products such as lamb, cheeses, vegetables, sausages and, of course, wines.
Visit a traditional livestock pasture
One of the most loved plans by our guests and an experience that we always recommend to all those who visit us.
A visit to an extensive livestock farm, where you can see the cows with their calves, the flocks of sheep with their lambs and the horses that will come up to you to pet them and give them some treats.
Visit an astronomical observatory in the middle of nature
During your nocturnal visit, you can observe the mountains and craters of the moon, the rings of Saturn, the clouds and moons of Jupiter, nebulae inside which stars are being born, star clusters with hundreds of thousands of suns… and many other celestial objects.
A visit to one of the many artisan cheese dairies in the area
A charming plan in Zamora perfect for all lovers of culture, tradition and, above all, the gastronomy of our area.
Visit artisan cheese dairies where you can follow the whole process of making cheese from Zamora, from milking to curdling and maturing the cheese in its different stages.
Hiking routes discovering the nature that surrounds us
The local goverment has signposted a new hiking route which starts in Villanueva de Campeán and runs through the villages of Corrales, Peleas de Abajo, Gema, Casaseca de las Chanas, Arcenillas and Zamora.
The route is nearly 30 kilometres long, 29.15 kilometres to be precise, and is perfectly signposted, with information panels at the main monuments and buildings of interest along the route. For example, at the start, in Villanueva de Campeán, the Monastery of Nuestra Señora del Soto, the ruins of what was once a Franciscan convent, built in 1406 and declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), is documented on a panel.
Visit a Tierra del Vino D.O. winery
Visit to the wineries of the D.O. Tierra del Vino de Zamora, where you can see the wine making process, taste the good wines of this appellation and the only Spanish region known by the name of “Tierra del Vino”.
During the grape harvest season you can participate in this activity with lunch at mid-morning.
Visit a handicraft factory in Pereruela
A charming plan in Zamora, perfect for discovering one of the most traditional activities of Zamora’s culture, its handicrafts. Pereruela is historically known for its clay ovens and traditional pottery, which dates back from ancient times to the present day.
The clay ovens and clay pots are renowned for their high resistance to fire and for their excellent use in the kitchen. Pereruela brought national fame to Zamora pottery.
Golf at El Maderal golf course
A different plan to the rest of the traditional plans that we propose in this guide.
Golf lovers also have a perfect place in El Maderal to enjoy their favourite sport. All golfers will be able to enjoy a “Putt and Putt” golf course with 9 holes with double tees, par 54, and club house with Café-Bar.
El Maderal Golf Club is situated in a privileged location close to two major provincial capitals, Zamora and Salamanca, just over 30 km from both.
