LA POSADA REAL DEL BUEN CAMINO

We present the following activities

FOLLOWING A PART OF ‘CAMINO DE SANTIAGO’.

‘Camino de Santiago’ goes through Villanueva de Campeán along ‘Via de la Plata’. You can feel like a pilgrim for a day wandering across a stretch of this ‘Camino de Santiago’ in the certainty of treading physically the same way that pilgrims walked for centuries and in many stretches the same secular stones.

VISITS TO DEHESA GANADERA.

Visits to an extensive cattle pasture where you can observe the cows with their calves, the flocks of sheep with their lambs and the horses that will come to you in order to caress them and give them a treat.

VISIT TO AN ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY.

On your night visit you can see the lunar mountains and craters, the Saturn rings, Jupiter’s clouds and moons, nebulae within which stars are born, stellar clusters with hundreds of thousands of suns...and many more celestial objects.

VISITS TO HOMEMADE CHEESE FACTORIES.

Visit to homemade cheese shops where you can follow the whole process of Zamorano cheese production from the milking until cheeses are matured in their different stages.

HIKING.

Junta de Castile and Leon has signaled a new hiking route that starts from Villanueva de Campeán and runs through the towns of Corrales, Peleas de Abajo, Gema, Casaseca de las Chanas, Arcenillas and Zamora. It is about 30 kilometers long, specifically 29.15, on a perfectly marked itinerary and where information panels have been placed on the main monuments or interesting buildings along the route. For example, at the exit, in Villanueva de Campeán, the Nuestra Señora del Soto monastery, the ruins of a former Franciscan convent built in 1406 and declared a Cultural Asset. The building is a benchmark in the Via de la Plata itinerary

VISIT TO WINERIES OF THE CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN ‘TIERRA DEL VINO DE ZAMORA’.

Visit the ‘Tierra del Vino de Zamora’ wine cellars, where you can see the wine elaboration process, taste the good wines of that certifcate of origin and only Spanish region known with the place name ‘Tierra del Vino’.

Participation in the wine harvest, with lunch at noon.

VISIT TO THE POTTERY FACTORY FROM PERERUELA.

Pereruela is historically known for its clay kilns and traditional pottery, dating back from ancient times to the present day. Clay ovens and clay "pots" are recognized for their high resistance to fire and excellent use in the kitchen. Pereruela gave zamorana pottery a nation-wide fame.
